The first Uptons Restaurant was founded in 1946 in San Francisco's financial district. After many years of success the building was sold in the early 1960's to make room for constructing the Bank of America building complex. Uptons was relocated to Lombard Street, between Scott & Divisadero Streets near the Palace of Fine Arts.
Uptons Restaurant & Catering flourished for many years in the new location serving San Francisco residents with exceptional dining and catering experiences. Uptons catered to San Francisco Mayors, celebrities, large corporations, unions and countless private individuals.
In the late 1970's it was decided to focus on catering exclusively. We also began serving the many distinguished private schools in the local community with a cafeteria services program.
Today, Uptons is focused on providing the highest quality school lunch programs available. Our programs have evolved over the years to best meet the needs of the students, parents & faculties we serve.
Our culinary staff continues to provide memorable catering experiences for all occasions.
