The students we serve are growing and developing their own personal palettes. As parents we all know how much marketing is targeted at them to consume foods linked to obesity and childhood diseases. The majority of these foods have little to zero nutritional value and are filled with simple carbohydrates, excess fats, sugars and additives.
The perfect environment to educate about the differences between healthy and unhealthy foods is in the school cafeteria where the students eat everyday. The goal of our program is to:
- Inspire students to be adventurous and try, enjoy and accept wholesome nutrient dense foods into their palettes.
- Teach students why a heathly diet can increase energy levels, overall fitness, performance, success and hapiness.
- Educated about the content of unhealthy foods so they better understand why they should be avoided.
- Encourage students to value eco-friendly practices and recycling.
